Student Bio

Los Angeles based Ciera Dawn made her Oregon Shakespeare Festival debut as Ti Moune in Once on this Island and her Goodman Theatre debut as Paulina Sarpong in School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play. Her Chicago cedits are: A Man Of No Importance (Pride Films and Plays); We Are Proud To Present…(Steppenwolf Theatre); The Mutilated (A Red Orchid Theatre); Next To Normal (BoHo Theatre); Jesus Christ SuperstarThe Little Mermaid (Paramount Theatre); Madagascar (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre); Other Than Honorable (American Blues Theater). Film & TV credits: Chicago Fire and Pitch Perfect. Ciera received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theater Studies, Acting concentration at Emerson College and is a graduate of the Steppenwolf School (2014).

Ciera says:

"For years, as a performer, I felt stuck trying to perform in a certain “style” that professors and casting agents expected from me. With Rebecca’s help, I’ve been able to hone in on my true voice and through technique and hard work, I have a wide-ranging developed instrument that I feel confident walking into any audition or rehearsal with. Rebecca has taught me how my true and pure vocal instrument is one of the most powerful tools I can carry with me throughout my career."
